Was the nullified touchdown by the Raiders called correctly?

Just like the announcer, I thought that in the end zone you just needed possession and two feet down. I did not think you had to maintain possession all the way through contact with the ground. Can anyone find the rule on this? I have checked but don't see it defined to this degree.
