What would a Vigilante today wear?

I just watched the Batman movies for about 20 times and now I'm wondering. If someone actually wanted to become a vigilante, like, someone thats NOT a billionare, today, what would he wear/use/other functions? like, affordabley, what would he/she wear as armor, use to subdue, without killing the crimina, and use for transportation? on the average person's salary, uming they scrimp for money or something. Just curious, thanks
