Meeting of Cortez and Montezuma?

What do you think was going through Cortes' mind when he met Montezuma? Do you think he was scared of the outcomes, or do you think he was glad that he got this far becuase he wanted to get into the heart of the city? Your answer doesnt have to be formed off of the question i just asked, but in general what do you think went through his mind?
